CARE

IMG_1028.jpeg

The piece takes the form of a small wearable container, designed to hold natural materials such as sponge and cotton tampon, suggesting an alternative approach to menstrual care—one that is both personal and environmentally aware.

The use of silver introduces an additional layer of meaning and function: in contact with water, it is traditionally associated with purifying and hygienic properties, supporting the care and maintenance of the object.

This project originates from a reflection on the tampon applicator, reinterpreted here as a reusable and consciously designed object.

Traditionally conceived as a disposable plastic or paper device, the applicator becomes in this work a permanent, intimate object, shifting from a hidden necessity to a considered and meaningful presence.

By translating a functional object into porcelain and silver, the work moves between body, ritual and design, questioning habits of consumption while addressing themes of visibility, dignity and sustainability.

Without emphasis, it invites a reconsideration of what is usually concealed, opening a quiet dialogue around the relationship between the body, care and the materials we choose
