I am Loredana Avagliano, a ceramic artist and designer working with clay as a way to explore form, material and identity.
My work moves between artisan tradition and a contemporary approach, where each piece is conceived as a unique handmade object.

I was born in Cava de’ Tirreni and spent part of my childhood in Bagnara Calabra, a small fishing village on the Strait of Messina. It was there that I first encountered clay, through the American artist Stefany Kerwin, who introduced me to it in a simple and playful way. That early experience stayed with me over time.

After returning to Cava de’ Tirreni, I followed a different path for several years, studying Political Science and specializing in European law, with periods abroad. I later returned to ceramics, deepening my practice under the guidance of master ceramist Pierino Pisapia, where I became familiar with both traditional and industrial techniques rooted in the Vietri ceramic tradition.

Since 2013, I have been part of the Pandora association, a context that has contributed to shaping my artistic perspective. In my studio in Cava de’ Tirreni, I develop my work and share my practice through workshops for adults and children. My pieces have been presented in exhibitions in Italy and abroad.

Over the years, my work has also been recognized through a number of awards, including the Officine Ceramiche design Award (2022, 2024) and the Premio Melis in Bosa (2023).
